Aluminum Chassis for Durable High Performance RC Racing
Mugen Seiki MTC2R 1/10 4WD Touring Car Kit – Aluminum Chassis
Product Overview
The Mugen Seiki MTC2R is a high-performance 1/10-scale 4WD electric touring car kit developed for serious RC racers who want precise handling and extensive setup flexibility. The A2005-A version features an aluminum main chassis and incorporates a range of updates over the original MTC2 platform.
Designed and tested for both carpet and tarmac racing, the MTC2R focuses on improving steering precision, drivetrain consistency, suspension performance, and chassis setup. Its central-drive layout and adjustable components give racers plenty of ways to fine-tune the car for different track conditions.

Aluminum Chassis
The A2005-A uses an aluminum main chassis, providing a different chassis response from the MTC2R's CFRP version.
The MTC2R chassis system is designed to give racers control over chassis flex and balance. This allows the car to be adjusted according to track surface, available grip, tire characteristics, and driving style.
For customers specifically looking for the aluminum version, A2005-A is the correct MTC2R kit designation; A2005-C is the separate CFRP-chassis version.
Updated Steering System
The MTC2R replaces the previous steering arrangement with a single-bellcrank steering system mounted directly to the low-profile servo mount.
This design is intended to reduce unwanted play in the steering mechanism while providing a more linear steering response. Two steering-rod positions are available to help racers adjust the steering characteristics to suit their setup.
Improved Drivetrain
The MTC2R features new ball-bearing-equipped drive shafts designed to reduce friction and vibration. This helps improve drivetrain consistency and reliability during racing.
The motor mount has also been redesigned with a more compact construction and provisions for additional belt-tension adjustment. Racers can therefore make finer adjustments to belt tension as part of their overall setup.
Suspension and Shock Improvements
Several MTC2R updates are focused on suspension consistency:
New silicone X-rings help the shock shafts move more smoothly.
Revised shock positions are intended to improve overall grip.
Larger 6 mm damper balls with 2.5 mm hex sockets improve durability.
New front and rear shock towers allow fixed or active mounting.
The shock mounting positions have been optimized for improved setup flexibility.
A redesigned caster adjustment system allows the upper-arm bracket to move forward and backward, making caster changes easier and providing a wider adjustment range.

The MTC2R aluminum-chassis kit is suitable for:
1/10 electric touring car racing
Club racing
Competition-level RC racing
Carpet racing
Asphalt and tarmac racing
Advanced RC hobbyists
Racers who want detailed chassis and suspension tuning
Mugen Seiki's own MTC2R setup documentation includes configurations for both carpet and asphalt, reflecting the car's intended use across different racing surfaces.
Setup and Maintenance
As a competition-oriented chassis, the MTC2R benefits from careful assembly and regular maintenance. Check the drive belts, bearings, drive shafts, shocks, suspension components, and fasteners regularly.
The car can be tuned through caster, shock mounting, belt tension, chassis flex, suspension geometry, and other setup adjustments. Mugen Seiki also provides optional parts for further customization, including different upper decks, anti-roll bars, chassis weights, springs, and other tuning components.
Important Product Notes
This is an assembly kit, not a ready-to-run RC vehicle.
Motor, ESC, radio system, battery, charger, body, wheels, tires, and other operating equipment are not included unless specifically stated by the seller.
The A2005-A designation identifies the aluminum-chassis version.
Do not confuse A2005-A with A2005-C, which uses a CFRP/carbon-fiber chassis.
Product contents and specifications may be revised by Mugen Seiki without notice.
Actual performance depends on electronics, tires, setup, track surface, and driving conditions.
Summary
The Mugen Seiki MTC2R A2005-A is a sophisticated 1/10 4WD electric touring car kit with an aluminum chassis, built for racers who want precision, consistency, and extensive tuning capability.
Its updated single-bellcrank steering, bearing-equipped drive shafts, improved shock components, adjustable caster system, fine belt-tension adjustment, and flexible shock mounting provide a strong foundation for competitive racing.
