The Metabo 2nd generation BRUSHLESS Motor is encapsulated to protect against harsh dust particles and delivers maximum drilling performance, efficiency and service life combined with maximum continuous power and extended run times. Metabo VibraTech (MVT) Technology provides ultimate user comfort with decoupled MVT vibration absorbing rear and side handles. The rubber-coated rear handle and large switch design allow for comfortable operation even when wearing heavy work gloves. The Metabo S-Automatic torque-limiting clutch disengages the drive should the bit lock unexpectedly. A Drop-Secure (DS) tethering point is included for attachment to a suitable lanyard for safety when working at heights. The selector switch allows for two modes of operation: hammering and chiseling, as well as a neutral position for setting the face of the chisel in relation to the material being worked. A lock-on switch minimizes fatigue in chiseling applications, but for safety reasons cannot be engaged in rotary applications. The Metabo VTC electronics package provides speed stabilization, thermal overload protection, and soft start for precise penetration of the drill bit. The tool also includes a power-reduction feature, which reduces the impact energy by 30% for cleaner through holes and better control. In addition, the heavy duty die-cast aluminum gear and motor housing adds stability to the tool for long service life, and the bright LED work light illuminates the work area.
