The band saw is powered by a Makita-built motor that delivers 630 FPM blade speed making it ideal cutting conduit, Unistrut, copper pipe, threaded rod, angle iron and channel. Built-in LED light allows working with ease in low light conditions. The Makita's star protection computer control protects battery by avoiding over-heating and over-loading. The ergonomically designed handle is provided with rubberized grip so that the user can work for long duration without any fatigue. Internal charger fan is provided to protect the battery from overcharging. Cast aluminum gear housing ensures less weight and enhanced durability. Adjustable material stopper plate offers improved support for accurate cutting. Exterior blade adjustment allows for accurate blade tracking thereby increasing cutting performance.
