Horizontal and Vertical Layout
The HV2R is designed to work in both horizontal and vertical orientations. In horizontal mode, it can establish a rotating reference plane for leveling, elevation, foundations, concrete work, and general site layout. When positioned vertically, the laser can provide a vertical reference plane and an upward point for plumb and alignment tasks.

Accurate Long-Range Performance
The HV2R is specified at ≤2.2 mm accuracy at 30 meters, equivalent to ≤3/32 inch at 100 feet. With the included XLD detector, its working range extends to up to 300 meters (1,000 feet), making it suitable for both indoor layout and longer outdoor construction measurements.
The detector allows the laser reference to be located when the red beam is difficult to see in bright outdoor conditions.

This current KIT configuration should not be confused with the older HV2R Combo Kit, which PLS identifies as obsolete. The current kit uses the TPOD500 elevating tripod and GR16 grade rod.
