Compact CNC Capability
The SD120 is designed for users who want the functionality of a CNC machine without giving up a large amount of workshop space. Its compact footprint makes it suitable for a dedicated workbench or other small-shop setup.
Despite its size, the machine provides a 12" x 25" x 4" XYZ travel range, allowing it to handle a variety of detailed projects.
Flexible Workholding
The SD120 uses an interlocking slotted aluminum table that provides numerous options for positioning clamps. This makes it easier to secure different shapes and sizes of workpieces for cutting, carving, engraving, and machining.
The machine also features a Y-axis that extends approximately 1 inch beyond the fixed bed, allowing certain operations on the ends of longer boards, such as box joints and tenons.
Two Ways to Control the Machine
The SD120 provides flexibility in how projects are transferred and run.
Touchscreen Pendant
Projects can be created with the included VCarve Desktop software and transferred to a USB drive. The drive can then be connected to the LCD color touchscreen pendant, allowing the machine to operate without keeping a computer directly connected during machining.
Computer Control
For interactive control, the SD120 can also be connected to a computer using Ready2Control. This setup provides access to Virtual Zero Unlimited, a Next Wave CNC technology that maps the surface of the material and adjusts the toolpath to account for variations in the workpiece surface.
