Green Beam for Improved Visibility
The SK106GDNAX uses a 510–530 nm Class II green laser. Green laser light is generally easier to see than red laser light under many indoor and moderately bright jobsite conditions.
The projected line can be visible up to 115 feet, depending on ambient lighting and the work environment. For applications requiring greater range, the laser can be detected up to 262 feet with a compatible Makita Laser Detector, sold separately.
Cross-Line and Four-Point Projection
This model combines two types of reference information in one tool:
- Horizontal laser line

This configuration makes it possible to establish level, plumb, alignment, and square references without changing tools.
The line fan extends to approximately 180° horizontally and 160° vertically, helping provide broad reference coverage around the laser.
Self-Leveling Performance
The laser can compensate for positioning errors of up to 4° of slope. Once positioned within its self-leveling range, the line can stabilize in up to approximately 3 seconds.
This is useful when the laser is placed on a surface that is not perfectly level, reducing the need for manual adjustment before beginning layout work.
Flexible Mounting
The included Magnetic PRO L-Adapter gives the laser several mounting options. It can be attached to appropriate metal surfaces and provides 1/4-inch and 5/8-inch threaded connections for compatible tripods.
This flexibility is useful when working on walls, framing, ceilings, metal structures, or other locations where placing the laser on a flat surface is impractical.
Pendulum Lock for Sloped Layouts
The integrated pendulum lock serves two purposes. It helps protect the internal leveling mechanism when the tool is transported or stored, and it allows the laser to be used for slope or incline applications where a self-leveled reference is not required.
Durable Jobsite Construction
The SK106GDNAX features an IP54 rating for dust and water resistance, making it suitable for typical construction and installation environments.
Makita also incorporates recessed laser windows and a protective rubberized housing to help protect the laser assembly from normal jobsite handling.
12V max CXT Battery System
The kit includes a 12V max CXT 2.0Ah lithium-ion battery. Makita rates the included battery for up to 10 hours of continuous operation, depending on operating mode and conditions.
