Direct-Drive Brushless Motor
The XLS01ZX1 uses a direct-drive BL™ Brushless Motor mounted at the sanding head. This configuration is designed to improve sanding efficiency while eliminating carbon brushes that can wear during normal operation.

Variable-Speed Sanding

Cordless 18V LXT Platform
The sander operates on Makita's 18V LXT Lithium-Ion battery system, providing cordless mobility for drywall finishing applications.
Makita states that the XLS01 can deliver up to 35 minutes of runtime on a single 18V 5.0Ah battery, using 120-grit abrasive. Actual runtime varies depending on the battery, abrasive, material, sanding pressure, and working conditions.
