Realistic Motorcycle Handling
The Promoto-MX is designed around the unique challenge of controlling a two-wheeled RC vehicle. Its MS6X electronic technology works with the bike's mechanical systems to help maintain stability while riding at different speeds and over jumps or uneven terrain.
The system also provides different riding characteristics through its control setup, allowing the rider to manage lean angle and maneuver the motorcycle through corners, berms, jumps, and other terrain.
Brushless Power System
The motorcycle is equipped with a brushless electric power system and is designed around a 2S LiPo battery. Losi specifies a top speed of 40+ mph, making the Promoto-MX considerably faster than a typical entry-level RC motorcycle.
A compatible 2S 7.4V 5000mAh LiPo battery with an EC5 or IC5 connector and a compatible LiPo charger are required to complete the model. The battery and charger are not included with this Red RTR configuration.
Suspension & Braking
The Promoto-MX incorporates motorcycle-inspired suspension geometry rather than relying on a simple RC vehicle suspension arrangement.
The front uses a spring-and-damper fork that can be tuned using silicone damping fluid and ride-height adjustments. At the rear, the rising-rate suspension starts relatively soft around normal ride height and becomes progressively firmer deeper into the suspension travel. This helps provide traction while reducing the likelihood of bottoming during hard landings.
Braking is also designed to resemble a real motorcycle. The front wheel uses a cable-driven disc brake, while the rear wheel receives motor braking.
Realistic Chain Drive & Tires
A steel chain drive connects the motor system to the rear wheel, giving the Promoto-MX an authentic motorcycle drivetrain appearance and operation. The bike is fitted with officially licensed Dunlop Geomax MX53 tires, a tread pattern developed for motocross applications.
The true-spoke wheels and scale rider equipment further contribute to the motorcycle's realistic appearance.
