52-Inch Rip Capacity
One of the defining features of this JPS-10 configuration is its 52-inch maximum rip capacity to the right of the blade. This gives the operator considerably more room than a compact contractor saw when cutting wide boards, plywood, panels, and other sheet goods.
The saw also provides approximately 13-1/2 inches of rip capacity to the left of the blade, making the fence system useful for both sides of the blade depending on the application.
ProShop Fence System
The included ProShop fence system is designed to provide the extended support necessary to take advantage of the saw's 52-inch ripping capability.
A rigid and properly aligned fence is essential for accurate rip cuts. The extended fence configuration provides a reference surface along the workpiece while the large table and extension system offer additional support for wider material.
10-Inch Blade and 4,000 RPM Arbor
The JPS-10 uses a 10-inch blade with a 5/8-inch arbor and operates at approximately 4,000 RPM. The saw is capable of cutting up to 3-1/8 inches at 90° and 2-1/8 inches at 45°.
The machine also accommodates dado blades up to 8 inches in diameter and 13/16 inch in width, when using the appropriate compatible dado setup and insert.
1-3/4 HP Motor
The JPS-10 is powered by a 1-3/4 HP, 115 V, single-phase motor. Published specifications list a 7.4-amp motor and recommend a 10-amp circuit for this configuration.
This electrical configuration makes the saw suitable for workshops with compatible 115 V single-phase service while providing enough power for a broad range of general woodworking operations.
Steel Wings and Extension Table
This version combines stamped-steel extension wings with a rear extension table. The main cast-iron table measures approximately 20 x 27 inches.
With the extension table installed, the support area extends to approximately 44 x 27 inches, while the full extension arrangement reaches approximately 80 x 27 inches.

Blade Guard and Riving Knife
JET redesigned the blade-guard system to improve visibility and protection around the cutting area. The transparent guard uses independent leaves, while the quick-release riving knife can be removed or changed without an unnecessarily complicated procedure.
A low-profile riving knife is also included for applications where a conventional blade guard/riving-knife arrangement is not appropriate, such as certain non-through cuts. Always use the appropriate guarding configuration for the operation being performed.
Magnetic Paddle Switch
The large magnetic paddle switch provides a convenient way to start and stop the saw and is positioned for easy access. The motor reset function has also been relocated to the power-switch area, making it easier to access when required.
The magnetic switch design also helps prevent unintended restarting after a power interruption.
Improved Dust Collection
The JPS-10 incorporates an improved dust shroud around the blade to help direct sawdust toward the machine's 4-inch dust port. JET specifies a minimum dust-collection requirement of approximately 350 CFM.
