Generac 16-Circuit 100 Amp Load Center Automatic Transfer Switch – NEMA 3, cUL
The Generac 16-Circuit 100 Amp Load Center Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) is designed to automatically transfer selected electrical circuits between utility power and a standby generator when an interruption occurs. Combining transfer-switch functionality with a load center, this unit provides a practical solution for managing essential circuits while helping simplify generator-backed electrical installations.
Its 16-circuit configuration makes it well suited for residential and light commercial applications where specific loads need to remain powered during a utility outage. The 100-amp rating provides capacity for a range of essential electrical loads, while the NEMA 3 enclosure is designed for suitable indoor and outdoor installations where protection from environmental conditions is required.
Key Features
- Automatic transfer switching helps move connected circuits to generator power when utility power is unavailable.
- 16-circuit load center provides organized distribution for selected backup loads.
- 100-amp rating supports appropriately sized electrical systems and applications.
- NEMA 3 enclosure offers protection for installations exposed to rain, sleet, snow, and other environmental conditions.
- Designed for use with compatible Generac standby generator systems.
- Helps reduce the need for manually switching essential circuits during a power outage.
- cUL listed for applicable Canadian electrical requirements.

Typical Applications
The Generac 16-Circuit 100 Amp ATS can be used to provide automatic backup power management for essential loads such as:
- Lighting circuits
- Refrigerators and freezers
- Heating and cooling equipment
- Sump pumps
- Security systems
- Selected household appliances
- Other designated essential electrical circuits
How It Works
Under normal conditions, the transfer switch supplies connected circuits from the utility electrical service. If a utility outage is detected, the compatible standby generator starts and the ATS transfers the designated loads to generator power. Once utility power is restored and stable, the system transfers the loads back to utility power.
Important Compatibility Note
Before installation, confirm the exact Generac transfer-switch model, generator compatibility, service configuration, circuit requirements, and local electrical-code requirements. Installation and electrical connections should be performed by a qualified electrician.
